A police vehicle carrying a Pakistani prisoner in Jammu & Kashmir was attacked by militants on Saturday, and a blast, reportedly inside the vehicle, killed the prisoner.
The vehicle was passing through Kashmir's Sopore district when an explosion occurred in.side the van
Five policemen were also injured in the incident.
According to The Kashmir Reader, the police were taking the Pakistani prisoner, an under trial, to the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) in Sopore from Srinagar's Central Jail when a 'blast took place inside the van'.
The Pakistani prisoner Wahid Noor Khan was to appear before the sessions court for a 2010 militancy case, Press Trust of India reported.

Sopore has been in a tense situation since the killing of several civilians, especially telecom operators, by militants since last month.
Militant outfit Hizbul Mujahideen has been blamed for the killings.
