Mild tremors were felt in Srinagar and other parts of Jammu & Kashmir at around 8pm on Wednesday, reports said.
The quake was felt for about five seconds in Srinagar, tweeted CNN IBN.
The earthquake measured 3.3 magnitude on Richter scale.
On 26 October, a 7.5 magnitude earthquake jolted Afghanistan, Pakistan and northern India, killing about 250 people and injuring several others.
