Even before its release, megastar Mammootty's upcoming movie "Kasaba" has become one of the most anticipated films of recent times. From the release of first-look poster to its teaser, fans have been celebrating "Kasaba" making it a much-hyped film of the actor. The film is expected to break records at the box office on its opening day, July 7.
After the poster got heavily trolled on social media, the teaser has now broken all existing records by crossing one million views within 99 hours of its release on the YouTube page of Goodwill Entertainments. The 28 second teaser, released on June 25, has been viewed more than 1,103,510 times, at the time of reporting and is the fastest teaser to cross the mark. However, the teaser of Mohanlal's "Pulimurugan" has crossed the one million mark even only after one month of its release. But the trailer of young star Dulquer Salmaan's "Kali" broke records and crossed the one million mark within 50 hours of its release.
"Kasaba," the debut directorial venture of Nithin Renji Panicker, has Sarathkumar's daughter Varalaxmi and Neha Saxena in the female lead roles. Scripted by Nithin, cinematography of "Kasaba" has been handled by Sameer Haq and Rahul Raj has composed its music. The big-budget film is the production venture of Alice George under the banner of Goodwill Entertainments.
Will the over-hype affect "Kasaba"?
Like any megastar movies, "Kasaba" is also expected to have a fabulous opening day on its release on July 7. Being an Eid release, "Kasaba" is sure to make a good opening day collection at the Kerala box office. The teaser has already raised the expectations of the audience from the movie and its fate will be decided only if it garners positive response upon release. It has to be noted that many over-hyped films have failed to meet the expectations of the audience after hitting the theatres.
Will the hype make Mammootty-starrer a box office winner?
