Young Tamil star Karthi is awaiting the release of Kaashmora, and as part of the promotional activities of the period drama, the actor arrived in Kochi, Kerala on October 25.
Karthi attended the press meet at Gokulam Convention Centre in Kaloor. During the event, the actor said that the team took two years for the filming of the fantasy film, which also has horror, comedy and period drama elements.
Karthi, who plays as a king named Raj Nayak and common man named Kaashmora, also revealed that they even had to redesign the entire set of Kaashmora as Baahubali: The Beginning has become a benchmark of period drama.
South Indian actress Nayantara plays a queen in the movie. Calling it a challenging and exciting project, Karthi also revealed about the different make-ups he had tried for his characters, out of which they finalised the ones that doesn't look like him at all.
"It took almost three hours daily for my make-up and even Nayantara was not taking such a long time for her make-up," Karthi said during the press meet.
Looking at the trailer and songs of the movie, which is being made in Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Telugu, it is expected to make good collection at the worldwide box office.
The Tamil trailer has been viewed more than 5.3 million times on YouTube, at the time of reporting. Kaashmora also stars Sri Divya and Vivek in significant roles.
Sopanam Entertainment has bagged the theatrical right of the Karthi-starrer for whopping Rs 1.5 crore. The fantasy thriller, made on a budget of Rs 60 crore, will be released all over the country on October 28.
The advance booking for Kaashmora, directed by Gokul, has already started in Tamil Nadu, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Kerala. Most of the tickets for shows in Chennai have been sold out two days before the release of the Karthi-starrer.
