Director Krishnadev Yagnik's Karsandas Pay And Use (KPAU) starring Mayur Chauhan and Deeksha Joshi has done decent collection at the box office and has become one of the biggest Gujarati money spinners of 2017.
Karsandas Pay And Use had good pre-release hype and promotion and it was released in a decent number of cinema halls in Gujarat on May 19. The movie received average response at the ticket counters and collected Rs 23.40 lakh at the box office on its first day. But the film was successful in winning the hearts of the movie buffs, who were in all praises for the film unit.
A strong word of mouth helped Karsandas Pay And Use go on strength to strength over the weekend and on the weekdays too. Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted: "Gujarati film #KarsandasPayAndUse went from strength to strength with each passing day... Mon to Thu biz is an eyeopener... Data follows..."
Karsandas Pay And Use has collected Rs 2.23 crore nett at the box office in the first week and its seven-day gross total stands at Rs 4 crore. Written by Krishnadev Yagnik, Karsandas Pay And Use is a romantic comedy that revolves around the love story of Tilok (Mayur Chauhan), who runs a pay and use toilet. Tilok falls in love with Jaya (Deeksha Joshi), but her father, who is an auto-rickshaw driver, declines to accept their relationship. Tiok challenges Jaya's father and proves his importance in the society.
The audience were impressed with the chemistry between Mayur Chauhan and Deeksha Joshi, a few comedy scenes and music, which are the main factors for its success at the box office. The movie is expected to continue its dream run at ticket counters and make decent collection in the second week too.
