Karnataka Minister for Municipal Administration CS Shivalli passed away on Friday following a massive heart attack.
The 57-year-old minister was rushed to a private hospital in Hubballi and was being treated when he took his last breath. He is survived by his wife Kusuma, daughters Roopa, Deepa and son Amarashiva.
Shivali was monitoring the rescue operations at Dharwad building collapse site for the past three days.
Congress leader Siddaramaiah expressed his condolences on Twitter. He said that he was shocked by the death of his friend and longtime minister CS Shivalli. He also called him a humble, simple personality, and a popular leader.
The minister's mortal remains are being shifted to Madani Colony and will be kept there for public till 6.30 pm. Later, the body will be taken out in a procession to Kundgol via Adargunchi where it will be kept for the public to pay respects, reports Deccan Herald.
The final rites will be conducted at his birthplace in Yaraguppi village on Saturday afternoon.
