Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor is set to play the role of a top actress in Madhur Bhandarkar's forthcoming film "Heroine". To make sure she has just the right wardrobe, she will receive a closet of 150 costumes, all designed by Manish Malhotra, India Today reports.
"Heroine", one of Bhandarkar's more ambitious projects, will reportedly cost the producer and his co-producers - UTV - something in the region of Rs 20 crore and reports suggest that he wants to leave no stone unturned in his efforts.
"The film has a Bollywood superstar as its central character and will need a lot of glitz and glamour, as far as look and treatment go. In keeping with the image of a superstar, most sequences in the film will see Kareena down two to three sets of dress," a sources from within the industry said.
The source also suggested that the longer sequences could see multiple changes of wardrobe.
Bhandarkar had initially cast Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the lead role and she had even completed nine days of shooting, after returning from the Cannes festival in May. However, after the actress reported she was pregnant, the production team had no option but rope in a new actress - Kareena.
Meanwhile, the word on the street is that the actress will be paid a whopping Rs.8 crore for her part in the film.
The film is expected to be released in early 2012, with shooting already under way.
