Actress Kareena Kapoor Khan confirms that she will not be working in Karan Johar's project "Shuddhi". Kareena was chosen opposite Hrithik Roshan, as the lead for the film. He too quit following some health issues. However, the reason for the actress quitting is yet to be known.
Earlier speculation was that actor Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone will be doing the film but they are currently acting in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's project "Bajirao Mastani".
Moreover, there are rumors of Salman Khan being part of the movie along with Kapoor, but the actress denies such reports.
"Will Salman be part of 'Shuddhi'? It is all created by you all (media). 'Shuddhi' is shelved. Karan is working on 'The Warrior' remake I think with Siddharth Malhotra and Akshay Kumar... this is what Karan said. It (shooting) will start in August," told Kareena Indian Express .
She also rubbishes reports of her not being on good terms with Johar. Johar will be producing "Shuddhi" under his banner Dharma Productions. "Karan and we meet often. He loves to party. He is a very good friend. He is a brother to me and we share a deep bond. He is somebody who can be there for you," she said.
The "Heroine" actress further declined an offer to be in Sujoy Ghosh's upcoming thriller Durga Rani Singh. Initially, the director had approached Vidya Balan for the lead role but she rejected the offer due to health reasons.
There was another rumor that Kangana Ranaut was offered the lead in the film but had to drop out due to lack of dates.
Again, Dil Dhadakne Do director, Zoya Akhtar initially wanted to sign real life cousins Kareena and Ranbir but Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra will be seen playing the role of siblings in the film.
The 33-year-old actress, married to Saif Ali Khan, specifies that her priorities are different and that she wants to do those movies that suit her schedule.
"Now I am at a stage where my priorities are different. I want to do films according to my time. I am married and I want to give time (for it). I can't go on outdoor (shooting) for three months and that is the reason I rejected Zoya Akhtar's film which required me to be on a cruise for three months," said Kapoor, as reported by Bollywood Life.com
The "Gori Tere Pyaar Mein" actress is currently acting in Rohit Shetty's sequel 'Singham Returns' along with Ajay Devgan at Ramoji Film City.
