Kareena Kapoor Khan will be next seen pairing with Arjun Kapoor in the movie "Ki and Ka" but reports suggest that Anushka Sharma was the first choice for the role.
According to a report in Absolute India, director R Balki first approached Anushka for the lead female role in "Ki and Ka" but the actress rejected the offer, as it was of a mother.
"Initially, it was Anushka who was offered the film by the makers. However, Anushka had rejected the offer as she didn't want to play the character of a mother in the film. Later, the director approached Kareena Kapoor to play the female lead. She liked the script and agreed to do the film," the report quoted a source as saying.
Apparently, Kareena's role in "Ki and Ka" is of a working wife, who has a child, while Arjun Kapoor plays the character of her husband, who takes care of home.
Riding high on the success of "Bajrangi Bhaijaan", Kareena has another upcoming movie titled "Udta Punjab", which is based on the drug menace in Punjab.
On the other side, Anushka, who was last seen in "Dil Dhadakne Do", will next feature in Karan Johar's "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil", starring Ranbir Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
