Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor Khan is set to take a weight loss pills brand to court for using her name without consent to promote its products.
The medical brand in its ad claimed that the actress had taken its pills to lose 13 kgs, but in reality Kareena has never endorsed this product. While much was being said about Kareena, she had chosen to remain mum on the issue until now. But the "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" actress will now file a ₹20 crore (approx) legal suit against the brand.
The actress is reportedly upset with the brand and thus, her team will be sending a legal notice soon.
"Kareena who has spoken against the Size Zero trend and reiterated that it was only for her look in the action-entertainer, has always advocated a healthy body image and is upset with the brand who is misleading her fans to believe otherwise," said a source.
"She is finally breaking her silence on this and taking a stand. Her team will be sending a legal notice to the brand and the website that are making these claims."
While Kareena was not available for a comment, her spokesperson confirmed the news, saying: "Kareena never has and never will advocate crash dieting or weight-loss pills. As a professional, she has never misled her fans with false claims. Her legal team will be taking action against the brand soon."
Meanwhile, Bebo will next appear on big screen with Salman Khan in "Bajrangi Bhaijaan." She also made a cameo in the latest Akshay Kumar flick "Gabbar Is Back."
