In a scramble to reach the top, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Priyanka Chopra had soured their personal equation years ago, but looks like one of the two leading ladies is finally interested in burying the hatchet. The "Ki and Ka" star said she was proud of the way the "Quantico" actress has put India on the international map.
"The way Priyanka has put India out there, and done so well for herself, is amazing. I feel proud of her. But my priorities are different. I don't see Hollywood as an avenue. I want to be an actor, a wife, and lot of other things in my life," she told the Hindustan Times.
Many of Kareena's peers have been making massive career jumps and picking up good roles. When asked if she thought women were getting better opportunities only now, she replied in the negative. Kareena said women have always got good roles, and there's no stopping them.
"I have been acting for the past 16 years, and I have worked with Anil Kapoor, Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan. Now, I am working with Arjun Kapoor. I don't see anything stopping women. If you are a good actor, you will get work till you are 80," she said.
In her interview with the leading daily, she also said it was completely unnecessary to make a big deal out of kissing scenes in her next film "Ki and Ka." "I have always maintained that I would go according to my script. I don't know why the kissing scene has become a big deal. We should move past kissing scenes," she said.
Directed by R Balki, off-beat romantic film "Ki and Ka" features Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan in cameos.
