Bangalore based smartphone maker Karbonn Mobiles is reportedly planning to launch the fourth iteration of the Titanium smartphone series dubbed 'Titanium S6', in the second week of July in India.
The revelation comes close on the heels of Micromax's next-generation metal-clad Canvas 4 advertisement hitting Televisions across the country.
Rival company, Karbonn Mobiles Managing Director, Pradeep Jain said, "Our aim at Karbonn is not to provide the cheapest smartphone in the category but a quality product in the market. We have done that with our past products and we will continue to do the same with Titanium S6.", reported NDTV.
The Titanium S6 is reported to pack a Qualcomm based quad-core processor and run on latest Android Jelly Bean OS. It is also expected to ship with Full HD (1080p) display along with a stylus to browse on the big screen. When asked to reveal the price of the new Titanium S6 smartphone, Jain reportedly hinted that it will be priced under ₹20,000.
According to various reports, Titanium S6 is also expected to come with a slim body having thin bezel and pack a 13.0-megapixel main camera. Other specifications are still under wraps right now.
As of now, the company sells three Titanium series smartphones - Titanium S1 (around ₹9,990), Titanium S2 (₹10,299) and Titanium S5 (selling around ₹11,500). All are powered by quad-core processors.
The Titanium S5 smartphone received good appreciation in the market and even gave stiff competition to rival Micromax's A116 Canvas HD. It now remains to be seen if Karbonn's Titanium S6 be able recreate rivalry with same intensity against the upcoming metal-clad Micromax Canvas 4 which is also expected to make its debut next month.
