Bangalore-based smartphone maker Karbonn Mobiles released on Monday an entry-level Android handset called Smart A51.
Karbonn Smart A51 sports a 3.5-inch TFT LCD screen with 480x320p resolution and ships with 1GHz processor,256MB RAM, 512MB inbuilt memory which can be expanded up to 32GB vi microSD card. It flaunts a 3.2-megapixel main camera with LED flash on the rear side and a VGA camera on the front.
The only downside of Karbonn's new handset is that it runs on the two-generation old Android v4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. In comparison, rival companies like Micromax and Lava are selling their entry-level smartphones with v4.2 Jelly Bean.
Karbonn Smart A51 is currently offered at online store Saholic for ₹3,499.
Early this month, the company had released a budget phone, Karbonn A8, in the market for ₹6,189. The device featured a bigger 4.0-inch display TFT LCD display and runs on Android v4.2 powered by a dual-core processor with 512MB RAM and 4GB memory.
