Popular television actor Karan Singh Grover's lead role in soap "Qubool Hai" has been cut short.
The show makers have reportedly dismissed Grover due to his unprofessional behaviour and will soon take legal actions against the actor.
The 31-year-old actor's lack of commitment towards the show was evident from his lackadaisical antics during the shooting.
"While shooting for 'Qubool Hai' Karan would either report to the shoot late or sometimes he wouldn't turn up at all. Even when he came, he would shoot for a few hours and leave. He has been extremely unprofessional for the past few months, and that is the primary reason for his replacement," revealed an insider to Times of India.
The source also alleged that the storyline of the soap had to be altered numerous times to accommodate the actor's repeated absence. Finally, fed up with his antics, the actor was kicked out of the leading television serial.
Confirming the report, Ajay Bhalwankar, the Content Head of Zee TV told PTI, "No actor can hold shoots or dictate their terms and conditions to an extent that it hampers the show. We have initiated legal action and will announce his replacement soon."
Grover, who rose to fame with his role as the young doctor in "Dil Mil Gaye" is said to have exuded similar unprofessionalism during the show, which had led to his ouster.
Interestingly, rumours of the actor quitting the show have been doing rounds for quite some time. Grover, himself, had initially downplayed the reports and called them fake.
"Qubool Hai" on Zee TV stars Subhra Jyoti in the female lead opposite Grover. The highly popular soap opera 'focuses on the Muslim community and aims to dispel stereotypes regarding Islam.'
Recently the show's second male lead Vikrant Massey was replaced with Mohit Sehgal.
