Television actress Ankita Bhargava (Ankita Karan Patel), wife of popular actor Karan Patel of "Yeh Hai Mohabbatein" fame, is all set to make a comeback to the small screen in a new show based on educational politics. Ankita, who was last seen in "Reporters," will play the protagonist in the show titled "Vidya," which will be aired on Doordarshan.

Though the pilot episode was shot in January last year, the show got delayed due to some reasons, resulting in the change of several members of the cast who were finalised for the series. Ankita has started shooting for the show now, which is expected to finally go on air in a couple of months.

"Ankita plays the titular role of Vidya, a teacher by profession. She is the main protagonist. But the cast that was supposed to be finalised for the show has been changed, except for Ankita. The casting for other roles has not been done yet. Everything is happening at the last minute," a source told India Forums.

Confirming the report, Ankita told the website: "Yes, I am a part of the show. It is a Nautanki films' prestigious project. It is also something I have been waiting for to get materialise, since last year." Talking about why she took so long to make a comeback, the actress said: "I have always wanted to do roles that can make a difference. That is why I took up this show."

Last month, Ankita was in news when Karan's ex-girlfriend Kamya Punjabi openly expressed her love for Karan at the Box Cricket League 2 (BCL 2). Kamya even went on to hug Karan for his team's excellent performance, which left the "Yeh Hai Mohabbatein" actor blushing.

After Kamya's shocking behaviour, Ankita had reacted to it strongly. "All I want to say on this bullshit being thrown our way is that this is just a waste of your energies. I would suggest they use their energies in doing something more productive in the future," Ankita had told India Forums.
