Bollywood director Karan Johar who has churned out popular sagas like "Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gam" and "Kuch Kuch Hota" might be soon be taking a responsible step in the 'family way'.
A couple of days after his 41stbirthday, Johar revealed in an interview to Hindustan Times that he might soon be enjoying the joys of parenthood by welcoming a baby into his life.
On being asked if it was the right time to adopt, the ace director said, "Yes, this is definitely on top of my mind at present. Tell me, who doesn't want to have a family to extend himself/herself?"
"My mom and I will bring up the child wonderfully. I will take one baby step at the moment, pun intended!"
The successful director had on many occasions shunned the idea of being in a relationship or getting married. He did, however, speak of adoption as a likely decision.
Johar's decision reflects superstar Salman Khan's idea of adoption. The "Dabangg" star had recently dispelled the constant speculation around his marriage, but said he was open to the idea of having a child.
Other Bollywood celebrities to have taken the adoption route are Sushmita Sen, Raveena Tandon, and director Subhash Ghai who took his younger brother's daughter Meghna completely under his wing.
Sushmita took a big step of adopting daughter Renee in 2000 when she was only 25. In 2009, the doting mother adopted a three-month baby girl and named her Alishah.
