Karan Johar's "Shuddhi" has been in the news ever since the project was conceived. And after much delay, Salman Khan was finalised to play the lead role.
Now, rumours are doing the rounds that the plot of the Salman starrer is similar to that of adult star-turned Bollywood actress Sunny Leone's film "Ek Paheli Leela", reports Bollywood Life.
"Ek Paheli Leela" that is currently running in theatres, is about a village girl (played by Sunny) who turns into a glamorous film star and then into a princess. The film revolves around re-incarnation, and if rumours are to be believed, "Shuddhi" too has a similar storyline.
However, there is no confirmation about the rumoured similarity and people will have to wait until "Shuddhi" goes on floor.
Initially, Karan signed Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor Khan to play the leads. But as the production got delayed, Roshan opted out of the project. Later, Kareena also backed out. Ranveer Singh, Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan's names were also associated with the project but the deal finally got sealed with Salman.
This is the first time that Johar and Salman have teamed up after their 1998 superhit "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai" (1998), and the actor-director duo are reportedly looking forward to creating another blockbuster with "Shuddhi".
Meanwhile, Salman is busy with Kabir Khan's "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" and Sooraj Barjatya's "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo", both lined up for release this year.
