"Kapoor and Sons" faced the heat of the ICC World T20 match between India and Pakistan, but nevertheless showed good growth in its collection at the Indian box office on its second day.

Released in 1,500 screens in the domestic market, "Kapoor and Sons" had opened to decent response and made good collections at the Indian box office on the first day. The strong word of mouth was expected to help the film show massive growth Saturday. But the movie received tough competition from the ICC World T20 India v. Pakistan match.
The Sidharth Malhotra, Fawad Khan and Alia Bhatt-starrer registered a very good number of footfalls in the morning and afternoon shows. It witnessed 100 percent occupancy in many screens in multiplexes in cities and urban areas. But that was not the case in the evening shows: The much-awaited T20 match kept many viewers at home throughout Saturday evening.
"Kapoor and Sons" has collected Rs 7.75 crore nett at the Indian box office Saturday, taking its two-day domestic collection to Rs 14.60 crore nett.
Taran Adarsh â€tweeted: "#KapoorAndSons witnessed an UPWARD TREND on Sat. However, India vs Pakistan cricket match made a dent in the evening/night shows... [sic]" He added, "#KapoorAndSons should have a STRONG Day 3. Fri 6.85 cr, Sat 7.75 cr. Total: ₹ 14.60 cr. India biz. [sic]"
Trade experts predict "Kapoor and Sons" will witness a big leap and collect more than Rs 10 crore at the Indian box office Sunday, taking its first-weekend collection beyond Rs 25 crore. Taran Adarsh â€tweeted: "Looking at the current trends, #KapoorAndSons should have a ₹ 25 cr [+/-] 3-day opening weekend, which is VERY GOOD. India biz. [sic]"
"Kapoor and Sons" is a romantic comedy-drama written and directed by Shakun Batra and produced by Karan Johar under his banner Dharma Productions. The movie has received positive response from both critics and the audience, who say it is the best family entertainer of 2016.
