The comedy king of television, Kapil Sharma, has bagged his first endorsement contract with a popular car brand. The producer of the most watched TV show - "Comedy Nights with Kapil" ("CNWK") - will be seen playing as a salesman in the commercial advertisement of Honda Mobilio.
Sharma, in the ad, is asked by the manager to speak about the amazing features of the new car, but the comedian displays his flirtatious side and eventually succeeds in selling the four-wheeler to a female client. While convincing the client, he unfolds the qualities of the vehicle in an impressing way.
The ad certainly reflects Sharma's personality as the character (Bitty Sharma) of "CNWK."
The comedian expresses his excitement about his first brand association. "It is a reputed brand and I feel honoured to be associated with them. It's a very affordable car for a middle-class family and in comparison to other seven-seaters, it is cheaper," Afaqs quoted Sharma, who himself owns a Honda City and Honda Civic.
The stand-up comedian received several offers for endorsing products in the past but Sharma wanted to be a part of those products that he truely believes in.
After the successful TV show, the comedian is now moving into films. He has signed three film contracts with Yash Raj Films banner and will soon start working in his first movie titled "Bank Chor."
The actor-comedian has grabbled international fans and has impressed his viewers irrespective of their age groups.
For Sharma, shooting for the commercial ad has been a totally different experience. "In the show we are used to working with multiple cameras. But here there are cut-to-cut shots that are being taken. This is one of those ads that have an interesting storyline with a humour element attached to it. The features of the car are also communicated at the same time," he added.
The ad will be aired across news, general entertainment, regional and sports channels and will also be dubbed in eight different Indian languages including Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Gujarati and Punjabi. Printed version of the ad will be published in newspapers in 15 different languages.
With this deal, Sharma joins the Bollywood superstars such as Big B, SRK, Kareena Kapoor, Anil Kapoor and other stars who have promoted cars. Sharma is being paid ₹4.5 crores for the ad contract, according to some sources.
