After much debate, funny man Kapil Sharma' s "Comedy Nights with Kapil" will only be aired once a week from January 2015.
Because of Sharma's popularity among the masses, he has been approached by quite a few film-makers. Unfortunately his three-film deal reportedly turned sour after he wasn't able to provide dates to the production house giant Yash Raj Films.
He apparently made repeated requests to the makers of "CNWK" to make it into a once-a-week show, but was turned down. And ever since then he has been at loggerheads with the channel.
"However, soon after, he was replaced by Riteish Deshmukh in the film, and the show continued with its biweekly run. But now that Kapil has accepted Abbas-Mustan's romcom, and has offers from David Dhawan and Kabir Khan, he has issued an ultimatum: Make the show a weekly or it will be a no-show for four months," stated a Mumbai Mirror report.
Giving in to Sharma's demands, the channel has finally agreed to air the show once every week from January 2015 onwards. Giving busy schedule as a reason, the master comedian reportedly said once that he doesn't want a drop in the quality of the show and that, it is a massive pressure.
Interestingly, he also added that he needed to grow as an actor and so films would be ideal for him at this point of time. But with the packed schedule, he hasn't been able to give the project his best. According to sources, there are two more offers in the pipeline, which he needs to reflect upon.
The director duo's yet-to-be-titled comedy flick will also star beauty queen Simran Kaur Mundi and Swedish beauty Elli Avram.
When asked about working with the comedian, Mundi said, "I'm super excited to share screen space with Kapil Sharma, the current king of comedy. His jokes always have me in splits and matching his comic timing will surely be tough. But, I am looking forward to it," according to The Times of India.
