Kapil Sharma's brand new show, "The Kapil Sharma Show," had opened to positive response from the audience, but the new show will only have 26 episodes, spanning 13 weeks, before going on a break. While Kapil's former show "Comedy Nights with Kapil" was a regular affair, "The Kapil Sharma Show" will have its last seasonal episode in its 13th week.
"When we started with CNWK, we had planned to make it a series. But then, it started doing extremely well and we continued with the show. But for this new show, we already have it sorted. It will be a 26-episode series spanning over the next 13 weeks," Kapil told DNA.
The stand-up comedian further said the show would take a break after its 26th episode and come back with a new season. "We will finish shooting for 13 weeks and then we take a small break before we again start the next season. This will be a continuous process and we will keep taking small breaks in between," he said. Thus, July 17 (Sunday) is likely to have the last episode of the show's current season.
Apart from Kapil, "The Kapil Sharma Show" team includes Ali Asgar, Sunil Grover, Kiku Sharda, Sumona Chakravarti and Chandan Prabhakar.
The comedy show is aired on Sony TV every Saturday and Sunday at 9 p.m. The first episode of Kapil Sharma's brand new show on Sony Entertainment Television had Shah Rukh Khan as special guest.
Although the maiden episode of the show received some negative response from critics, the audience response on Twitter has been mostly positive, as fans celebrated Kapil's comeback on the small screen.
