Comedy king Kapil Sharma, whose television show The Kapil Sharma Show has been one of the top-rated shows, is gearing up for his second Bollywood movie. Kapil's debut film Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon, which released last year, went on to become a hit.
According to a SpotboyE report, Kapil will produce and star in his second Bollywood film titled, Firang. Unlike the first film, which had four actresses Elli Avram, Manjari Phadnis, Simran Kaur Mundi and Sai Lokur opposite Kapil, Firang will see the ace comedian romancing only one actress, Ishita Dutta. Ishita is best remembered as Ajay Devgn's on-screen daughter in 2015 release critically acclaimed film Drishyam.
The report said that the film would be period comedy and would be helmed by Kapil's friend Rajiv Dhingra. Dhingra had earlier directed a Punjabi film Love Punjab. Previously, there were reports that Kapil was in advanced talks with Queen director Vikas Bahl for a movie. However, with the latest report of comedian-actor teaming up with Dhingra, it seems that the movie with Bahl has been put on hold.
Firang will go on the floors from November 25 onwards in Punjab and the cast will later move to Rajasthan to shoot another important sequence.
Meanwhile, Kapil and the team of The Kapil Sharma Show are working on creating a bank of episodes before the comedian starts shooting for Firang. "Kapil has promised that he will come back to shoot the show in December if and when the need arises," a source told the website.
