Debutants Fawad Khan and Tiger Shroff impressed the audience as well as critics with their remarkable performances last year. This year also, several new faces took over the audience's hearts with their brilliant performances in their debut films.
From comedian Kapil Sharma to Sooraj Pancholi, 2015 saw many promising newcomers. Whether these newbies will make it big in Bollywood or not in the upcoming years, only time will tell.
Here are the Bollywood debutants of 2015:
Kapil Sharma
Comedian Kapil Sharma has been winning hearts with his comedy show "Comedy Nights With Kapil" since many years. But, this year, he turned actor in Abbas Mustan's film "Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon."
The romantic comedy film featured Kapil in the lead role along with four actresses. Kapil's debut film garnered immense appreciation from several Bollywood celebs and also, viewers appreciated the actor's hard work.
Sanah Kapoor
Shahid Kapoor's sister Sanah made her debut in Vikas Bahl's movie "Shaandaar." Daughter of Pankaj Kapur and Supriya Pathak stole hearts with her performance. Interestingly, her first film was with her father and brother itself.
"Shaandaar" starred Shahid, Pankaj Kapur, Alia Bhatt in lead roles. Though Sanah was in supporting role, she proved that acting is in her blood.
Karan Singh Grover
Famous TV actor Karan Singh Grover made his debut with Bipasha Basu this year in a horror flick "Alone." Though, the film didn't rise in box office but the sizzling chemistry between the two actors was quite noticeable. Rumours buzz that the duo has been dating each other.
Then again in December, the actor appeared in another erotic film – "Hate Story 3".
Sooraj Pancholi
Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahib's son, Sooraj Pancholi, was seen this year on the big screen for the first time. He portrayed the role of Jackie Shroff in the remake of "Hero". Interestingly, this newbie has been mentored by Salman Khan and everybody knows the superstar's students mostly have succeeded in film industry.
Athiya Shetty
The remake of Jackie Shroff's "Hero" also featured a debutant as the lead actress. Suniel Shetty's daughter Athiya starred opposite the Pancholi scion for the first time. She is also mentored by the "Being Human" actor Salman.
Akshara Haasan
Kamal Haasan's daughter Akshara made her debut this year with ace actors Amitabh Bachchan and Dhanush in R Balki's directorial "Shamitabh." The film garnered a lot of appreciation making Akshara a superstar overnight. After watching the work of her father since long and also sister Shruti Haasan, the audience expects a lot from the newbie.
Gurmeet Choudhary
Gurmeet Choudhary has impressed the audience with his acting as Lord Ram and also, captured hearts with his dance moves in television reality shows. He made his debut in films this year in Mahesh Bhatt's "Khamoshiyaan."
