Superstars always boast of fan bases, which is expanding for ever. And they create stampede-like situations wherever they go. Interestingly, TV star and stand-up comedian Kapil Sharma probably has a similar effect on his followers as well.
Despite his exit from Yash Raj Films' "Bank Chor", Kapil has been receiving film and endorsement deals. Earlier, it was reported, he has bagged a lead role and would be romancing five heroines in director-duo Abbas-Mustan's next.
According to a Bollywood Life report, he met the directors for a story narration. Not just that, he was apparently surrounded by his many fans, which created a minor stampede. That is quite a feat for someone who is yet to sign up for a film.
Through his incredible comic-timing, Kapil has enthralled viewers across the globe. His popular TV show, "Comedy Nights With Kapil", is loved by all and has a loyal fan club.
The duo, Abbas-Mustan, has delivered hit thrillers including "Race 2", "Aitraaz" and "Ajnabee", and will now direct a comedy with Kapil.
Earlier, they had confirmed the news to Times of India, "We've had a few meetings with Kapil and talks are at an advanced stage. He's currently abroad and we are waiting for his return to finalise the deal. We now want to explore genres other than action-thrillers and comedy is one of them."
Kapil, who was visibly happy on his show about his three-film deal with YRF (which was later nullified), hasn't confirmed the news.
"Comedy Nights With Kapil" celebrated its 100th episode this weekend with return of Sunil Grover. Dressed in a suit with a grey dishevelled wig, Grover was convincing as Kapil's ever cash-strapped father-in-law. He delivered a perfectly-timed gag and managed to hold everyone's attention through the show.
