Former India captain and probably the greatest all-rounder the nation has ever seen, Kapil Dev achieved another milestone, as his wax statue was unveiled at the Madame Tussauds Delhi on Thursday.
But then the process of getting a wax statue does not seem to be easy, and also awkward. Kapil explained in a light manner, where the legend had to remove his clothes as well.
"I had to take off my clothes -- didn't have to strip totally but it was weird. It's a new thought. I was more educated about how this is done," NDTV quoted him as saying.
The museum in Delhi has a number of celebrities' statue, and he joins the elusive celebs including Amitabh Bachchan, Mahatma Gandhi, and Sachin Tendulkar among others. Madame Tussauds has 23 branches around the world, and Delhi is the 23rd branch as well.
Kapil also said there will never be another Kapil Dev, but there can be more Kapils with India having some quality players in the team presently.
"(It is) impossible to have another Kapil Dev. But there will be better Kapils, 100s more. (Ravichandran) Ashwin is an all-rounder. (Ravindra) Jadeja and (MS) Dhoni too are fab all-rounders. Anyone with more than one skill is a good all-rounder. I wish a fast bowler and batsman come out but this Indian team has enough players," Kapil said.
