Kanye West was recently given a Visionary Award at the 2015 BET Honors Ceremony. While accepting the trophy, the singer paid tribute to his wife, Kim Kardashian. He spoke about the dogmas of inter-racial relationship and the chemistry he shares with his wife.
"At the barbershop... I used to hear people always talking about, "Man you know when an entertainer get on, of course you know he gon' go and get a white girl and blah blah blah and a white girl gon' get a rich black dude. But I wanna say that my wife has dated broke black dudes. It got nothing to do with the money," he said, reported Daily Mail.
West also reportedly said that one should "focus on the idea of love and not the idea of separation." and that people should focus on the human race rather than micro-races.
Meanwhile, Kardashian had faced a racial incident earlier last year. She had recounted her experience in one of the "KUWTK" episodes. "This lady stood up in the cabin in first class and yelled at the top of her lungs, "She's with a black guy, and that baby is black! And you need to shut that black baby up," she said, according to Mirror.
Later, she took to her blog and revealed that before giving birth to her daughter she never gave much thought to racism. She even revealed that her husband West has always been outspoken about the racial discrimination. She reportedly realises her responsibility as a mother and hopes that no child is judged based on his or her colour, gender and sexual orientation, reported the website.
West and Kardashian got married last year and the duo have a one-year-old daughter, North West.
In other news, Kardashian will be seen in a new commercial that will be aired during the Super Bowl. In the commercial, she will reportedly be seen poking fun at her career.
