Noted Kannada filmmaker, AR Babu passed away at a private hospital in Bengaluru on Tuesday, December 4 at 8.55 am. He was reportedly suffering from a kidney-related ailment.
AR Babu was undergoing dialysis every six month for the last six years. He was taken to the Apollo Hospital on Monday evening after he complained of severe stomach pain. As per the TV reports, he suffered a heart attack and breathed his last on Tuesday.
He was 56. Hello Yama, Sapno Ki Rani, Coolie Raja, Khalanayaka, Marujanma, Yardu Duddu Yellamana Jatre and Chamkaiysi Chindu Udaisi were some of the popular movies that he directed.
He was known for introducing many talents to Kannada film industry and director Prem was a former protégé of AR Babu. It may be recalled that the director had slammed Prem over his comment on senior filmmakers in Sandalwood.
The final rites will be performed as per the Muslim rituals at Bapuji Nagar later in the day.
Condoling his death, Jaggesh, who worked with him in a few movies, tweeted the below post:
