Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut's recently-released film "Queen" has been receiving huge critical acclaim.
Kangana's performance has also won accolades from all quarters and the film is doing good business at the box office.
Now, latest reports have emerged that the comedy drama flick might be remade in Telugu. It appears that Telugu filmmakers are showing interest in remaking the film. Some producers are said to have approached the film's makers to bag the remake rights.
Remaking Hindi films in south and vice versa has become the current trend in the Indian film industry. Recently, the Tamil-Telugu remake of Hindi film "Band Baaja Baaraat" hit the screens. There are a few more films in the pipeline including "Oh My God" and "Aashiqui 2" remakes.
"Queen" might as well join the list of Hindi films getting remade in Telugu. However, there is no official confirmation regard this.
If the Kangana starrer is indeed getting remade in Telugu, it would be interesting to find out which actress would reprise the actress's role. Since there is huge scope for the female protagonist to perform, many south actresses might by vying for the role.
As of now, there are just speculations about the film and more details are expected to be announced soon.
"Queen," directed by Vikas Bahl, is about a small town Indian girl who goes on a honeymoon alone, after her wedding is called off. During the course of her journey, she discovers herself and enjoys living life on her own terms.
While Kangana appeared in the lead role, Rajkummar Rao of "Kai Po Che" fame did the role of the fiancé who ditched his bride. The other cast members including Lisa Haydon, Vinay Singh, Jeffrey Ho and Alka Kaushal appear in supporting roles.
