Filmmaker Homi Adajania has roped in Sushant Singh Rajput and Irrfan Khan in his next film. There were reports that after working in two films with Deepika Padukone, Homi has signed Kangana Ranaut for his upcoming flick.
But it seems it was just a mere rumour. In a recent Twitter post, Homi wrote that he is still searching for the leading actress. "Too much speculation & so..@irrfan_k & @itsSSR are in my next film. Neither of them are women last I checked. Still casting the female lead," the director tweeted.
According to an earlier report by Catch News, after Sushant signed the project, Homi approached Kangana for the female lead and the actress seemed to be very interested in the film. However, the filmmaker has rubbished the report and hinted that Kangana might not be the lead actress.
On the other hand, Sushant will play the character of a rockstar in the film. After Ranbir Kapoor, the "Kai Po Che" actor is set to capture hearts in a rockstar look on the big screen. "Sushant plays a rockstar in the film. So his look also will be totally different from what we have seen him in," the DNA quoted a source as saying.
The source further said that Homi's directorial is a romantic film, which is supposed to go on the floors later this year. Sushant is currently busy with "M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story" and "Raabta," so he is expected to start shooting his next film after completing these two.
If Homi signs Kangana in his film, then fans will see the actress and Sushant for the first time on-screen. Kangana is currently shooting for Vishal Bharadwaj's "Rangoon" alongside Shahid Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan.
