The shooting of Vishwaroopam 2 has reached its final stages. Kamal Haasan has now started location hunt to shoot the last segment of the multilingual movie.
The actor and his team have left to Ukraine to finalise the locations for the shooting which will begin in Europe with a 10-day schedule. The team has plans to formally announce the release date once the shooting is over.
Meanwhile, the makers have reportedly locked in the date for its teaser release. The promotional video of Vishwaroopam 2 will be out on June 23 on the occasion of Ramzan festival.
The upcoming movie is a sequel to the 2013 movie, Vishwaroopam. A major part of the shooting was completed long ago, but the movie was in cold storage due to political and financial issues.
Vishwarooapam Troubles
Vishwaroopam was banned in Tamil Nadu in 2013 for a few weeks by the state government citing law and order problem although the alleged motive behind the move was a reaction of late Jayalalithaa to Kamal Haasan's pro-DMK statement.
The movie was later cleared by the court while it had a hassle-free release outside Tamil Nadu. Apparently, the movie had changed hands and Oscar Ravichandran had come forward to release its sequel. Unfortunately, the producer was hit by financial issues and he lost interest in the flick.
Also, the fear of being targeted by the AIADMK again was said to be one of the reasons why Vishwaroopam 2 was delayed. With the demise of former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa and the party hit by the infighting between the two factions, the makers of the movie got a chance to revive their flick.
Vishwaroopam 2 is written and directed by Kamal Haasan himself. The film has Rahul Bose, Pooja Kumar, Andrea Jeremiah and others in the cast.
