The trailer of Kamal Haasan's much-awaited "Thoongavanam" has been released on Wednesday, 16 September, as a Ganesh Chathurthi treat for the Tamil audience.

The makers had organised a trailer launch event, which was graced by the cast and crew of "Thoongavanam", on Wednesday where it was formally launched. Simultaneously, it was released on Youtube.

The trailer of Kamal Haasan's "Thoongavanam" clearly shows that it is an action-packed thriller. The video clip gives glimpses to all the key characters of the movie including Trisha, Prakash Raj, Sampath Raj, Kishore etc.

Kamal Haasan is seen in stylish avatars in the trailer. The remaining characters too leave a good impact on the audience. It is a well-cut video clip which has been taken to a new level by Ghibran with his brilliant background score.

"Thoongavanam" is the official remake of French movie "Sleepless Night". The Tamil version is written by Kamal Haasan himself and directed by Rajesh M Selva, a former associate of Haasan. It has Sanu Varughese's cinematography and Shan Mohammed's editing.

The shooting of "Thoongavanam" was kick-started in May and the filming was completed in record 38 days. The run-time of the movie is said to be just 90 minutes. Meanwhile, the post-production work is going on in full swing and the audio of the movie is likely to be out next month.

The makers of "Thoongavanam" want to release the movie for Diwali and from the looks of it, the flick might be able to keep the date.
