After Akshay Kumar, Shankar is set to introduce Ajay Devgn to Tamil audience. Well, the director has reportedly approached the Bollywood actor for his next movie Indian 2, starring Kamal Haasan.
Kamal Haasan himself has admitted the news in an interview during the promotion of his upcoming movie Vishwaroopam 2. "That is what I have been told. It is the director's call," the Ulaganayagan said. The buzz is that Devgn will be seen as an antagonist in the flick.
The upcoming movie is the most ambitious project of Shankar, which is a sequel to his 1996 blockbuster Indian. The movie is special for the reason because it is said to be the actor's last movie before he takes a plunge into active politics.
In the first instalment, Kamal Haasan was seen in dual roles of a patriotic father Senapathy, who takes law into his hands and turns vigilante and corrupt son Chandra Bose. Manisha Koirala, Urmila Matondkar and Sukanya played the female leads.
The movie had ended with the death of Chandra Bose and Senapathy walking into exile with a threat call that he would return in future.
Rumours are rife that Nayanthara has been signed to play the female lead. Vadivelu is said to be doing the comedian's role in the mega-budget project.
The first instalment was produced by AM Rathnam, who was interested to fund the sequel initially before dropping the project. Later, Telugu producer Dil Raju came forward to fund the project, but backed out of the film for some reasons.
Now, Lyca Productions has taken over the movie.
