Here is some exciting news for Kamal Haasan fans. The actor will be sporting dual roles in his upcoming film "Uthama Villain," directed by Ramesh Aravind.
The shooting of "Uthama Villain" kicked off in the first week of March and is progressing at a brisk pace. The first look poster and the teaser of the film, which were released in February, had generated a lot of buzz among fans.
The first look, showing Kamal's face painted in red and resembling north Kerala art form Theyyam, built curiosity among fans as to what the film's storyline would be. Now, "Uthama Villain" team has let out some details about the story and the characters played by some of the actors.
Accordingly, Kamal will be portraying the role of an 8th century drama actor (Uttaman), as well as a 21st century film star (Manoranjan). Director Balanchander will be reprising his real life role of a mentor in the film. He will be appearing as mentor to Manoranjan, whom he groom and guide to achieve the superstar status.
Actress Urvasi will be appearing as Manoranjan's wife, whereas popular actor-director K Vishwanath will be donning the role of his father-in-law. Andrea Jeremiah will play Manoranjan's love interest in "Uthama Villain".
Pooja Kumar, who shared screen space with Kamal in "Vishwaroopam" and "Vishwaroopam 2", will appear in the role of an emotionally disturbed princess who in love with Uttaman.
Actors Nasser, Jayaram, MS Bhaskar and Parvathi Menon will also be seen in pivotal roles in the film.

"Uthama Villain" story and screenplay is written by Kamal, whereas the film is directed by Aravind. Its cinematography is handled by Shyam Dutt, while music is by Ghibran.
The comedy entertainer is likely to be released by the end of this year.
