Kamal Haasan's Bigg Boss Tamil was formally launched with a press meet held on Friday, May 26. The Universal Star is making his small-screen debut with the reality show, which will be aired from June 25.
The Universal Star shared about his excitement about being part of Bigg Boss. During the media interaction, he was asked why he preferred this reality show instead of a show like Satyameva Jayathe.
He was quick to respond as he said, "I have been more socially responsible than the person who did the show." The Hindi show threw light on many sensitive issues of the society that includes honour killings, domestic violence and child sexual abuse. It had also tried to present the great achievements of people that often go unnoticed.
Coming to Bigg Boss Tamil, 14 celebrities are participating in the first season of Bigg Boss Tamil. People from different backgrounds have been handpicked by Star Vijay and they will be locked inside the house for 100 days.
The contestants will have to survive in the house completely disconnected from the outside world during their stay in the house and every week one inmate will be shown the door.
The show will be aired between 9 pm and 10 pm on Vijay TV, and the weekend special shows will be kick-started by Kamal Haasan at 8.30 pm.
The house has been erected in Chennai which is said to be bigger than the one used for the Hindi version in Lonavala.
