Kamal Haasan, a self-proclaimed atheist, surprised everyone when he met the Dalai Lama. He and Gauthami had a great time with the spiritual guru on Tuesday, 10 November.
After the meeting, the Universal Star wrote a letter about meeting the Dalai Lama. Kamal Haasan says that he has admired Lama's resilience and purpose. "Being a fan of Gandhi ji, it is not to too farfetched to become his admirer. In spite of the fact that I am rationalist and hence not spiritually bent my meeting was invigorating and felt purposeful," the actor mentions in the letter.
"My lack of interest in matters of things spiritual in nature was matched by his disinterest in cinema. 'I have not watched a single movie not even Television,' he told me with a smile," Kamal Haasan adds.
Kamal Haasan concludes, "Yet he opined that I could use my craft and medium to propagate the great philosophy offered to the world by India: Ahimsa. I confirmed my faith in 'ahimsa' and said I will venture soon in that direction. For a man of his position, he indulged in small talk with abandon a sign of a man who had no worldly worries."
Meanwhile, Kamal Haasan is happy with the response that his latest movie "Thoongavaanam" is getting from the audience. The Tamil film was released on 10 November and opened to highly positive reviews.
"Thoongavaanam" has been written by Kamal Haasan and directed by his former associate Rajesh M Silva. Trisha and Prakash Raj are in the important roles in the film.
