Kalidas Jayaram is a household name for the Malayalam audience for his notable performances as a child artiste in blockbuster movies "Kochu Kochu Santhoshangal" and "Ente Veedu Appuvinteyum" along with his father and actor Jayaram. The 23-year-old star kid, who bagged the National Film Award and Kerala State Film Award for best child artist in 2003 at the age of 10, is now set to make a mark as a hero in the entertainment industry.
After announcing his upcoming Tamil movies "Oru Pakka Kathai" and "Meen Kuzhambum Mann Paanaiyum," Kalidas has revealed about his comeback in Malayalam as a hero. Celebrity couple Jayaram and Parvathy's son will be next seen in "Action Hero Biju"-fame director Abrid Shine's second directorial venture.
"YES! IT IS MY MALAYALAM DEBUT: I am so happy to announce that my malayalam debut is happening (as a hero) ! And it couldn't get any better than to act in shine Chetans movie (Abrid shine-action hero Biju). I still remember shine Chetan taking my photos when I was a kid! It's a great feeling to be back on home turf! The rest of the cast and crew will be announced soon.We will kick start shoot from next week:) [sic]," Kalidas posted on his Facebook page along with a selfie with the director on Saturday, Aug. 27.
"Happy to announce my next ,'a campus based' movie starring Kalidas Jayaram as the lead, his debut malayalam film! The shooting will commence next month.The movie also includes a bunch of new talented actors and musicians [sic]" Abrid posted on his social media page.
Abrid's debut movie, starring Nivin Pauly, was well appreciated by the audience for being a realistic cop movie narrating the incidents that happen at a police station in Kerala. The movie has become one of the highest grossing Malayalam films of 2016 after completing more than 100 days of theatrical run. According to trade analysts, the movie has minted an approximate gross collection of Rs. 16.65 crore.
