Star kids are always a fascination for media and public. The latest sensation in the list is Kalidas Jayaram, son of well acclaimed South Indian actor couple Jayaram and Parvathy.
The latest buzz is that Kalidas will make a comeback as a lead actor in a Malayalam film directed by Aashiq Abu.
Kalidas recently became popular in social media after his mimicry performance at the Vijay Television Awards held in Chennai. When the young talent was asked whether he can perform mimicry like his father, he went on to imitate the actors like Suriya, Ajith and Vijay in almost the perfect way. The video of his performance went viral and both Jayaram and Kalidas were flooded with lots of appreciation.

Meanwhile, Kalidas is not new to the industry. He made his film debut at the tender age of seven in "Kochu Kochu Santhoshangal" (2000) directed by Sathyan Anthikkad. For his second film "Ente Veedum Appoontem" (2003), directed by Siby Malayil, he won the National Award for the Best Child Artist. In both his films, he played as Jayaram's son.
Like Kalidas, Malayalam industry has seen a league of star kids making a mark in the industry. Many of them have outshined as actors, and others have marked themselves as film makers. Some of the popular ones are Indrajith and Prithviraj (both sons of late actor Sukumaran), Fahadh Faasil and Farhaan Faasil (both sons of ace filmmaker Fazil), Dulquer Salmaan (son of superstar Mammootty) and actor-director Vineeth Sreenivasan (son of actor- filmmaker Sreenivasan).
Earlier, there were many rumours regarding Kalidas's return to films, suggesting that he was being approached by many well acclaimed directors like Shankar, Gautham Menon and Mani Rathnam. But no official confirmation has been made yet regarding his return.
Meanwhile, Aashiq Abu is known as one of the new generation film makers of Malayalam cinema, who began his film career as an assistant director to film maker Kamal. He then went on to direct films like "Daddy Cool", "Salt N' Pepper", "22 Female Kottayam", "Da Thadiya", "Gauri – 5 Sundarikal", "Idukki Gold" and "Gangster". He has also announced his next flick "Oppana" starring his wife and actress Rima Kallingal in the lead.
