Kahaani 2 (Kahani 2) movie review by audience: Live update

Director Sujoy Ghosh's Bollywood movie Kahaani 2: Durga Rani Singh (Kahani 2) starring Arjun Rampal and Vidya Balan, has received positive reviews from the audience.

Kahaani 2 is a suspense thriller, which is the second instalment in the Kahaani franchise. The movie revolves around the story of a mysterious woman, who is charged with kidnapping and murder. Sujoy Ghosh has written the story and screenplay in collaboration with Suresh Nair, while Ritesh Shah has penned the dialogues for the movie.

Vidya Sinha (Vidya Balan) wants to see her paralysed teenage daughter Mini (Naisha Singh) walk again. When she tries getting close to silent Mini, she lands in problem with the latter's uncle (Jugal Hansraj) and grandmother (Amba Sanyal). Things take an interesting twist, when cop Inderjit Singh (Arjun Rampal), who is in search of kidnapper and murderer Durga Rani Singh (Vidya Balan), enters the scene. What happens next forms the crux off the story of Kahaani 2.

The audience say Kahaani 2 has an amazing story with a message that has never been explored on Indian celluloid. Its screenplay is thrilling and intriguing right from the first frame to the very last. Sujoy Ghosh has once again managed to thrill his audience, who are likely to sit on the edge of their seats while watching the film. 

Vidya Balan plays a double role and she has done justice to both of them. Her stellar performance is the highlight of Kahaani 2. Arjun Rampal has also performed well and his performance is another attraction of the film. Naisha Khanna, Jugal Hansraj, Tota Roychoudhury, Kharaj Mukherjee, Kaushik Sen and Manini Chadha are also assets of the movie, say the audience.

Kahaani 2, which has been bankrolled by Sujoy Ghosh and Jayantilal Gada, has good production values. Clinton Cerejo's background score and Tapan Basu's picturisation are the attractions in the technical front, add the audience. #FilmyFriday #Kahaani2 has interesting premise but sadly the screenplay doesn't keep you that interested, it's engaging in bits n parts. #VidyaBalan is the star of the film, but the narrative kills the intensity n thrill part of the film. 2ndhalf letdown it's not a sequel to #Kahaani but it has it's own sensitive story to tell, it goes there but fails to explore topic #Kahaani2 is wonderfully edited n shot really well. Wish I could say the same thing about writing n direction. Supporting cast is ok. overall if one keeps the Kahaani aspect aside, it still doesn't satisfy you as a film (2.5*/5) Not engaging enough to keep you thrilled in a sensitive topic it tries to convey (2.5*/5)

#Kahaani2 – An uninteresting Story!!! Kahaani2 is a let down. Sujoy Ghosh's Kahaani took us by surprise, he shook us with the story that was so compelling, riveting that being a suspense genre Kahaani has a great repeat value. Kahaani2 is so dull that you can easily give a skip even if you are a Vidya Balan fan. Kahaani2 rides high on expectations considering the fact that Kahaani was a runaway hit. It's cast was brilliant be it the old lady or the LIC agent or the police inspector. It had brilliant cinematography showcasing Kolkota as delight as it could be in a thriller genre. It engaged you right keeping you tight on your seat giving you a nail biting experience with several wow factors.
