The countdown for the teaser of Rajinikanth's "Kabali" has started after producer Kalaippuli S Dhanu, without revealing the exact date, claimed on Twitter that it will be out shortly. The speculated date of the release is May 1.
"#Kabali - One & only Superstar has completed his dubbing. Teaser coming soon. Stay tuned @superstarrajini @beemji," Kalaippuli S Thanu posted. It is believed that the makers are expected to formally announce the release date on Wednesday, April 27.
It will be a double delight for the Tamil audience if the teaser is released on May 1, to coincide with the birthday of Ajith Kumar. "#Thalaivar Dharshan confirmed 4 May 1st.. A 60 sec #Kabali teaser will be launched (#Thala fans will be extra happy)," celebrity PR Ramesh tweeted.
The makers of the Pa Ranjith-directed movie had originally planned to release the teaser of "Kabali" on April 14, on the occasion of the Tamil New Year. They had reportedly wanted to attach the video with Ilayathalapathy Vijay's "Theri."
However, the plans underwent changes for some reasons, causing the delay. Now the buzz is that the teaser will be attached to Suriya's "24," which will hit the screens worldwide on May 6.
Meanwhile, Rajinikanth has wrapped up the dubbing work for his portions in "Kabali." The post-production work is now happening at a brisk pace and is likely to be over after a few weeks. However, the movie release is likely to be delayed.
It was being said that the film would be released in the last week of May or the first week of June. The latest unconfirmed reports claim that "Kabali" will be out in June or July.
"Kabali" tells the story of an ageing don, who runs a school for children affected by gang wars. The movie is primarily set in Malaysia but the main character reportedly has his roots at Mylapore in Chennai.
