Rajinikanth, who kick-started "Kabali", will be working with Shankar again. Yes, the duo will be joining hands for "Endhiran 2", which is also spelt as "Enthiran".
The pre-production work has started with a bang. Leading trade tracker and journalist Sreedhar Pillai has confirmed the news on Twitter. "All the best to @shankarshanmugh & @srinivas_mohan 4 kick starting the pre-production work of #Robot2 (#Enthiran2)", he posted.
Shankar is collaborating with VFX supervisor Srinivas Mohan, who had earlier worked with the director in his "Sivaji – The Boss" and "Endhiran – The Robot". The duo has been having brainstorming sessions on their plans about the project, say reports.
The pre-production works are likely to continue for some more time. The project is likely to begin by the end of this year.
The rumours of "Endhiran 2" have been doing ever since the first instalment hit screens in 2010. But it is only now that the speculations have turned out to be true.
"Endhiran" starred Rajinikanth in dual roles and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Going by the present rumours, the actress is being replaced by some young Bollywood actress. It is said that Deepika Padukone, who had earlier teamed up with the superstar in the disastrous "Kochadaiiyaan", has been approached but it is not sure whether she has given her consent.
There is also no update on the technical team as of now. However, Shankar had taken a lot of time to complete the first instalment. The sequel is expected to take lesser time as Rajinikanth does not want to have much delay between his two projects.
His "Kabali" is likely to appear during Pongal 2016 and "Endhiran 2" might be a treat for Rajinikanth fans in January 2017.
