The confusion over the release date of Rajinikanth's "Kabali" continues, as the makers are yet to formally announce the news. The latest buzz is that the Tamil film is likely to be out on July 22.
"@superstarrajini 's #Kabali is expected to go to Censor mid-week this week.. Tamil, Telugu & Hindi versions target July 22nd release date," PR Ramesh tweeted. However, the Malay version of the film is expected to be delayed by a week.
"Kabali" was initially planned to release in May and the delay in post-production work pushed the release. Later, the makers had given a hint that the Tamil flick would hit screens on July 1, but the plans went for a toss for some reason one more time.

On the other hand, the entire theatrical rights of "Kabali" have been sold. "#Kabali in Tamil/Telugu/Hindi now all India theatrical rights for all areas sold out before release. Fabulous. [sic]," journalist Sreedhar Pillai tweeted. The Karnataka, Kerala and overseas rights have fetched a good amount for producer Kalaippuli S Thanu.
However, the promotions of "Kabali" are going on in full swing. From tying up with an airlines brand to creating an app, the makers are leaving no stone unturned to reach all sections of the audience.
"Kabali" is a multilingual movie, which is expected to be released in four languages (Tamil, Telugu, Malay and Hindi) in one go. The film, which has been produced by Kalaippuli S Thanu and directed by Pa Ranjith, is likely to be released in over 3,500 screens.
The movie tells the story of an ageing gangster. "Kabali" also stars Radhika Apte, Dhansika, Kishore, Kalaiyarasan and others.
