The Hindi version of Rajinikanth's "Kabali" has continued to do good collection at the box office on Saturday. The movie has fared better than Irrfan Khan's Madaari on its second day.
"Madaari" opened to good response on Friday and showed over 55-percent growth on Saturday. The Irrfan Khan-starrer has collected Rs. 3.50 crore at the box office on its second day. Its two-day domestic total stands at Rs. 5.75 crore nett. Taran Adarsh â€tweeted: "#Madaari shows 55.56% growth on Sat... Fri 2.25 cr, Sat 3.50 cr. Total: ₹ 5.75 cr nett. India biz."
The Rajinikanth-starrer opened to a decent response on Friday, but it received mixed talk from the audience in North India. Some trade experts predicted that the word of mouth might take a toll on its business on the following days. However, "Kabali" has maintained rock-steady at the ticket counters on Saturday. In fact, the movie has shown decent growth of 19 percent on its second day.
The Hindi version of "Kabali" has collected Rs. 6.20 crore at the North Indian box office on Saturday, taking its two-day total to Rs. 11.40 crore nett. Taran Adarsh tweeted: "#Kabali shows 19.23% growth. Fri 5.20 cr, Sat 6.20 cr. Total: ₹ 11.40 cr nett [Hindi+Tamil+Telugu]. Note: 1000 screens. NORTH INDIA markets."
Baahubali was the first South India film to have massive release for its Hindi version in North India and do brilliant collection at the box office. "Kabali" broke the opening day record of "Baahubali," but it has failed to do the same with the latter's second day record. It should be seen whether the Pa Ranjith-directed gangster drama will be able to beat the opening weekend record of SS Rajamouli's film.
The Hindi version of "Baahubali" had collected Rs. 22.35 crore nett at the North Indian box office in its opening weekend. Taran Adarsh had tweeted on 13 Jul 2015: #Baahubali [dubbed Hindi version] has an INCREDIBLE weekend. Fri 5.15 cr, Sat 7.09 cr, Sun 10.11 cr. Total: ₹ 22.35 cr. India biz. FABULOUS!
