Radhika Apte was recently in the spotlight when nude clips from her movies were leaked online. Now, the actress has shot a similar video for her forthcoming Hindi movie Bombairiya.
Filmmaker Michael E Ward has confirmed that a nude scene has been picturised. He points out that the scene was planned when Radhika Apte's controversy on nude clip first broke out. The incident forced them to rethink on doing such a sequence as the 31-year old was upset.
To his surprise, Radhika Apte agreed to do the sequence as she realised the importance of the sequence in the script. "Her character is a film publicist whose phone is snatched on the street. She chases after the thief frantically because there's a an MMS in it of her in the shower after a Holi blast which she knows could be embarrassing to her as well as the Bollywood actor she works with," Michael E Ward was quoted as saying by Mumbai Mirror.
He also clarifies that they are not trying to cash in on her controversies.
Radhika and her controversies
The Kabali actress had first landed in trouble when nude selfies of a lookalike of the actress surfaced online. Radhika Apte had clarified that the person in the photos was not her. "You guys! If you're going to get someone to pass off as naked me, she needs to look a lot more like me. [sic]" she had posted on her Facebook page.
Later, a naked video of the actress for Anurag Kashyap's movie Madly was leaked, causing huge embarrassment. If it was not enough, a lovemaking sequence with Adil Hussain in Parched was also leaked.
Reacting to it, she had had said: "If you want to see a nude body, just look at the mirror. Parched was the one film where I became more liberal about my own body and I forgot the fact that I was not wearing clothes (while shooting). I did not feel any different."
