Hrithik Roshan and Shah Rukh Khan's respective movies "Kaabil" and "Raees" are slated to be released around the same date. While SRK had openly expressed his concern for the big box office clash, Hrithik took a safe route when asked to comment on the same.
While the release date of Shah Rukh's "Raees" is Jan. 27, 2017, "Kaabil" is slated to hit the screens on Jan 26. At a recent promotional event of "Mohenjo Daro," Hrithik said that he had talked to SRK about it but it is the producers who would make the final call.
"Yes, we spoke and said we are actors and we should leave it to the producers to decide," Bollywoodlife quoted Hrithik as saying when asked to comment on the upcoming box office battle.
Directed by Rahul Dholakia, "Raees" was earlier scheduled to be released on Eid this year, but the makers of the film had decided to avoid a clash with Salman Khan-starrer "Sultan." Hence, the release date of "Raees" was postponed to January 2017.
However, now Hrithik's "Kaabil" has come up to collide with the film. SRK however, clearly said that he does not want the two big films to clash at the box office and thus they are having talks with the makers of Hrithik-starrer.
"We spoke to them a month back as they were just starting so we can do some adjustments. S, Rakesh Roshan ('Kaabil' producer) and Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar ('Raees' producers) will be meeting again. We are figuring it out so that we don't clash," Gulf News quoted Shah Rukh as saying.
Meanwhile, Hrithik is currently busy with the promotions of "Mohenjo Daro" that is slated to be released on Aug. 12. Directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, the film is touted to be one of the most expensive Bollywood movies ever.
