Actress Charmme Kaur, who turned producer with Telugu film "Jyothi Lakshmi", has revealed that her maiden production will be remade in Bollywood.
In a statement to Deccan Chronicle, Charmme has spilled the beans on the remake of "Jyothi Lakshmi". The actress said that she is currently in talks with a Bollywood production house for the same. She also revealed that they have already finalised the cast and crew for the remake.
But the actress-turned-producer declined to reveal the details. "We are in the process of dealing with a big Hindi production house for the remake rights of "Jyothi Lakshmi". I cannot divulge much about the cast and credits that have been finalised, however, big actors will be performing in the remake. There is no looking back for me now," Charmme Kaur said, the daily reports.
"Jyothi Lakshmi" is a female-centric movie that has a social message. The film malso has nice commercial elements. Written and directed by Puri Jagannath, the movie features Charmme Kaur in titular role. Satyadev has played the male lead in the movie, which revolves around a story of a sex worker.
A software engineer, Satya, falls in love with prostitute Jyothi Lakshmi. Having spent enough time with her, he expresses his intentions to marry her. Jyothi Lakshmi elopes with him to start a new life. How she is haunted by her past life will form the crux of the film.

Released in theatres on 12 June, "Jyothi Lakshmi" has received mixed reviews from the viewers as well as film critics. Made on a medium budget, the movie has done decent collection at the box office in its opening weekend. It needs to be seen how the film will perform at the theatres in the coming days.
