Serie A league leaders Juventus go into their tenth match of the league season on Wednesday as they take on Sampdoria at the Juventus Stadium in Turin. On paper, the match looks a done and dusted affair for the Italian champions but whether the defeat against AC Milan in their previous game last weekend has affected their morale, remains to be seen.
Sampdoria, currently 15th in the Serie A table, are without a defeat from their previous three league games, meanwhile.
Juve striker Paulo Dybala has been ruled out of this clash owing to a thigh injury but that will not prove too much hindrance for the team to go out and get back to winning ways again, feels Juventus midfielder Sami Khedira.
"We're not happy about losing [against Milan] obviously because we'd like to win every game, but the season is long, we're only in October and there are 38 fixtures in total," the German footballer said. "We've analysed our performance and we'll try to improve next time out. The good thing is that we have the chance in just three or four days to get a better result, which is what we're looking to do against Sampdoria on Wednesday."
Sampdoria bagged a win against Genoa in their previous Italian league fixture and that gives Marco Giampaolo's side some confidence ahead of their big clash against the Serie A heavyweights. "The win [against Genoa in the derby] gets us back on track and boosts morale. We'll push on from here taking each game as it comes. Now we can go into our next match -- even such a daunting one as Juventus -- with a weight off our shoulders," said the Sampdoria coach.
Schedule
Juventus vs Sampdoria is scheduled to kick off at 7.45 pm BST (12.15 am IST [Thursday], 2.45 pm EST) on October 26.
