Juventus star playmaker Arturo Vidal has revealed that he is indeed leaving the Turin giants this summer, as he looks closer to make a move to Bayern Munich.
The 28-year-old Chile midfielder dominated headlines this summer with clubs and fans following his moves closely. Vidal attracted a heavy dose of interest from a host of Premier League clubs as well as La Liga clubs.
But now, it is believed that Bundesliga giant Bayern remain the front-runner. It was reported like wildfire just days back that the Italian Champions League finalists received an offer of €40m (£28m) for the Chilean midfielder, from the Bavarians.
And now, not willing to waste any more time, Vidal took to photo-sharing service Instagram to make things clear.
He wrote: "You, supporters, were always the best with me! I will miss all of you a lot, thank you for everything."
With midfield general Bastian Schweinsteiger moving to Old Trafford this summer, it was expected that Bayern would go for some like-and-like replacement. They zeroed in on Vidal and the move seems perfect in ways more than one, as both the German star and the Chile star have similar styles of play.
Bayern had tried to sign Vidal four years ago when he left Bayer Leverkusen but he moved to Juve instead.
Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal were pursuing his signature doggedly this summer, so were Real Madrid.
It was even reported earlier this month that Vidal would be heading to the Santiago Bernabeu after talks were held for days between Vidal's agent Fernando Felicevich and Real's director general Jose Angel Sanchez.
And the interest over getting the transfer done was also shown from both sides.
The Turin giants have stamped an asking price of €30million (£21.2m) for the box-to-box midfielder, and the move for Vidal to Bayern looks all the more imminent as their reported bid of £28m is way higher than the Old Lady demand.
Meanwhile, the situation with midfielders at Juventus gets all the more complicated now. Juventus have lost veteran midfielder Andrea Pirlo to New York City and star midfielder Paul Pogba is also heavily linked with a transfer to Barcelona.
Nevertheless, Massimiliano Allegri's side have made calculated moves this summer to bolster their midfield as they provided a new long-term contract to Claudio Marchisio, and bought Sami Khedira from Real.
