The duo has been spotted together on various events and they have reportedly been "inseparable" lately.
However, putting an end to the dating rumours, Hailey said during the "Exodus: Gods & Kings" New York City premiere on 7 December, that she is just "good friends" with the singer and there is no romance involved.
"I've known him since I was so young — since I was like 13 — and we've just been good friends over the years. We have just stayed close and there's nothing more to it than that," she said to E.
Hailey is a model by profession and though she may have denied the dating reports, her growing closeness to "Baby" hit maker reportedly shocked Gomez. The "Come & Get It" singer was hurt when she saw Bieber and Hailey hanging out together.
Apparently, she was unable to believe that Bieber has moved on so easily. "It makes her think that everything he told her like how he couldn't live without her and that she was his princess soul mate was just a bunch of lies. She's really shocked and hurt that Justin is so serious with Hailey in such a short amount of time," a source revealed to Hollywoodlife.
Now that Hailey has cleared the air, it seems Gomez can take a sigh of relief. The 22-year-old stunner has been in an on-and-off relationship with Bieber. The couple dated each other from 2010 to 2012 and had a slew of make-ups and break-ups since then.
Meanwhile, it has also been reported that amidst Hailey and Bieber's growing friendship, Gomez has developed liking for George Daniel. They are attracted to each other and are said to be spending a lot of time together, as further reported by the website.
