When the game Just Cause 3 was released early December, it was a disappointment to many of its fans as there were several issues with the game's performance. Over time, its developer Avalanche Studios has tried to fix these issues, and one such issue was the game's long loading time, which was a hindrance to this open-world action game that marks the continuation of the Rico Rodriguez's story as he heads home.
The developer announced that it will release a new patch 1.02 for PC on 18 December and the two console versions will be releasing within the week as they are yet to be given final approval.
The developer noted that it has been reading the reviews and comments that allowed its team to work on fixes, and assured its players that this "update is part of a much larger plan to optimize and improve the game."
This is a very light update weighing only 132.1MB and will have the following fixes (Just Cause 3 blog):
- Significantly improved loading times
- Optimizations to online stats
- General stability fixes
- Fixed an issue related to challenges, wherein vehicles sometimes disappeared when starting a challenge
- Fixed issues related to screen resizing and closing the game window before the game has fully started up [PC ONLY]
Meanwhile, Avalanche Studios also shed some light on a list of concerns that have been repeatedly raised by its fans.
Unskippable Cutscenes: Cutscenes can be skipped, for which players will have to hold B on their gamepad, or hit 'Skip' from the pause menu.
No Sprint Button: The reason why there is no sprit button is because the game was designed that way so that it will encourage players to use the grapple to move around the environment.
No Crouch: Crouching has been replaced by getting the protagonist up in the air. The developer believes that Rico, its protagonist is "more deadly in skies that behind a container on the ground."
Finding the Last Chaos Object: Players can use their map to help find the Chaos objects. When players are left with last few objects in a settlement, the map will display the approximate location for Chose objects.
