Directed by Vivek Agnihotri, the love story features Yami, Pulkit, Gulshan Devaiah and Hrishita Bhatt in pivotal roles. Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar have produced the film under the banner of T-Series Films.
"Junooniyat" was shot simultaneously with Yami-Pulkit's "Sanam Re" and reports claimed that Vivek's film is similar to the latter, but the actress said that the storyline of both the film is completely different.
The film, which was shot in Kashmir, Amritsar, Patiala and Shimla, has failed to keep the reviewers glued to their seat. The critics have panned the film for its storyline and performances, and said that it is best to skip the movie.
Read below what critics have said about "Junooniyat."
Koimoi.com reviewer said: "You can skip this one indeed. You'll realize you've made the right choice when you'll watch the film on TV in a few months."
Saibal Chatterjee of NDTV said: "Absolutely, all cinema has scenes and images. But not all scenes and images are not cinema. Pretty frames do not a film make. It isn't that the pursuit of cloying sentimentality does not sometimes yield pleasantly surprising results. But don't expect any such miracle from Junooniyat."
Udita Jhunjhunwala of Firstpost said: "This is a predictable story with so many script slips that you begin to notice the shoddy computer graphics and wonder why Suhaani's sister-in-law and confidant, Mishti (Hrishitaa Bhatt) has absolutely no reaction when her dear sister-in-law's first love is standing in front of them at the latter's wedding."
